After a really busy week and a wonderful Sunday class at The Cake School I finally sat down to check on emails from the past few days to open a lovely note from a delightful student who came to us for a private class on rose making a couple of weeks ago.
Here’s what Natalie had to say:
Hi Fran,
I’d just like to say a huge thank-you to you!!! Your private lesson taught me how to make roses which I needed to know for an upcoming wedding cake. I wasn’t able to practice any for two weeks after your lesson due to a hectic schedule. Then I was worried I hadn’t remembered everything! So I looked up your on line tutorial as a refresher and took some notes. I then sat down and made 40 roses over a three day period and boy was that good practice to try and perfect my roses and also to never forget how to make them! I could see as each day went by my roses were getting a little better. I still struggled with assembling my wired petals though but overall enjoyed making all those roses. Oh and I used your flower  paste recipe which worked great and was easy to make.  My cake was not perfect but a wise woman told me never to tell people the imperfections in a cake! So overall I’m relieved now I made the cake, the roses and safely delivered it and definitely glad now I have the skill to make roses. So thank you very much, I couldn’t have done it without your wonderful teaching skills
Hope to take another class in the near future.
Natalie
